Daniel "Papa" Araujo

Daniel “Papa” Araujo passed away unexpectedly in Napa, CA on January 17, 2020 at the age of 59.

Daniel Araujo was born on March 23rd, 1960 in Montevideo, Uruguay to Walter and Dora. He graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Computer Science after arriving in the United States when he was 18. After moving to the East Bay, Daniel began working for The Doctor’s Company as an IT Director in Napa, California, where he built great relationships and thrived in his career. In addition to his full-time career in Napa, he worked an additional three nights a week as an IT Contractor for NeoLife in Fremont, California. In the time Daniel was away from his computer, he spent every second with his beautiful, loving wife, Stephanie where they did not let any moment go to waste. Daniel was blessed and extremely proud of his four children; Andre, Michelle, Daniel and Gabriella, who all inherited his relentless work ethic and nonstop drive. His children and wife will always remember him as the most kind-hearted, generous, supportive and humorous father who always encouraged them to follow their dreams and never take life too seriously.

Daniel was an accomplished soccer player and never lost his passion for the game, even if it meant waking up at 3AM to watch European games. He was a dedicated individual who loved his family more than anything and was determined to instill his values of kindness and willingness to help others, no matter the circumstances. 

Daniel is survived by his mother Dora; wife Stephanie; children Andre, Michelle, Daniel and Gabriella; brother Eduardo; sister Myrian; and grandchildren Andre and Ava. He is preceded in death by his father Walter Araujo.

The family of Daniel Araujo would like to thank everyone for their prayers, heartfelt messages and support, as well as the staff of Queen of the Valley Hospital for their amazing care in trying times.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 1st at 2PM with a small reception to follow.
