Cynthia T. Conklin-Woodworth, born on August 11, 1937, in Exeter, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home in Napa on September 6, 2023.
Cynthia's journey was marked by dedication and passion. After growing up in Durham, NH, she went on to graduate with honors in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire, embarking on a career that spanned several states. Her internship took her to North Carolina, Virgina, Texas, and Napa, California, where she eventually settled in 1960.
In Napa, Cynthia began her compassionate work as an Occupational Therapist at the VA Hospital in Yountville. She later transferred to Napa State Hospital and concluded her career as a Medical Coder at Queen of the Valley Hospital.
Beyond her professional life, Cynthia's heart resonated with the beauty of music. A skilled pianist, her home was filled with the soothing melodies of classical compositions. She also found solace in the art of quilting, and her love for reading and writing allowed her to express herself fully. Cynthia was an active member of the Napa Valley Quilters Club.
Cynthia possessed a deep affection for animals, with a special fondness for cats and birds. Her nurturing spirit extended to her beloved partner, Ron Karow, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded by her parents, Dr. James G. and Mildred Conklin.
Cynthia is survived by her loving children, Tracy Woodworth of Napa and Cecille Porter of Missouri, her devoted sister, Nancy Sherman of New Hampshire, and her cherished grandchildren: Leslie Muresan of Vacaville, Terry Woodworth of Pope Valley, Winston Porter of Missouri, Cynthia Porter of Florida, and Wesley Porter of Missouri. She is also survived by her nephew Jim Sherman of New Hampshire and her great-grandchild, Eli Muresan of Vacaville.
Cynthia's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
