Clara (Warner) Hutchinson Obituary

Clara May (Warner) Hutchison died peacefully on June 26, 2020, in Napa, California, at the age of 88.

Clara is survived by her children, Robert (Claudia), Kathleen (Michael) Fontana, and Karen Calhoun, grandchildren, Rebecca (Geoff) Gates, Steven (Jamie) Fontana, Benjamin (Laurel) Hutchison, Gregory (Sierra) Fontana, Alyssa (Lawrence) Black, Matthew Fontana, Jonathan Hutchison, and Molly (Sage Bauer) Calhoun, as well as great-grandchildren, Delaney Gates, Cooper Fontana, Fiona Gates, Scarlett Fontana, Grayson Gates, Carter Hutchison, Ingrid Fontana, Roland Black and Reagan Hutchison.

Clara was born on May 22, 1932, in Helena, Arkansas, to Ruth and William Warner. The family, including her two sisters, Bessie and Esther, moved to Napa, California, in 1942. Except for a few years living in Falls City, OR, during high school, Clara lived in Napa for the remainder of her life.

Clara married Eldon (Hutch) Hutchison on May 25, 1952, in Napa. After raising their 3 children and retiring, they enjoyed traveling, and spending time with their grandchildren. Clara was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, cake decorating, and doll-making throughout the years, but her favorite hobby was knitting. Every new grandchild and great-grandchild received a sweater and she had enough pre-made for any future great-grandchildren. Clara and Hutch had been married for 66 years when Hutch passed away in 2018.

Burial took place at Tulocay Cemetery on July 1, 2020. A private graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 22, 2021, her birthday. In lieu of flowers, please take a friend out for a chocolate milkshake, one of Clara's favorite things.
