Christine Freitas Obituary

Christine Margaret Freitas, 36, of Napa, passed away in July 2025. Christine was born January 24, 1989, in Vallejo, CA, to Katherine Robin (Klee) Freitas and Paul Freitas. She is survived by her parents, Paul and Robin Freitas, and her siblings and their spouses, Noel Freitas and Anil Melwani, Philip Freitas and Jessica Robles, Angela Freitas and Farhad Farahmand.

Christine graduated from Napa High School in 2007, where she participated in choir and traveled to Italy, Ireland, and New York. She studied and performed dance with Napa Valley Dance Center and was a member of the NHS marching band color guard. Following high school, she fed her voracious curiosity by attending classes at Napa Valley Community College and working at various restaurants. She pursued singing by participating in choirs such as the Sonoma Valley Chorale. She also regularly visited karaoke bars and occasionally performed with the local band, The Sorry Lot. She was a familiar member of the Napa nightlife and gleefully socialized with folks of all walks of life.

Christine passionately pursued crafting, often selling or gifting her unique creations. She loved to cook, try new recipes, and feed friends and family. She spent many hours in the family garden growing food and flowers, and appreciating nature. Chris decorated for Halloween each year with tremendous enthusiasm and was often seen dressing wonderfully witchy throughout and beyond October.

Chrissy was a whimsical, creative, and devoted aunt to many adoring nibblins (3 nieces and 2 nephews). Whether teaching them to make jewelry, baking delicious treats, going on scavenger hunts, making their birthday parties special, or just showing up to cheer them on, Chrissy was a loving presence in their lives.

In 2023, Christine became a camp assistant at Stone Bridge School, where she shared her love of crafting, cooking, and exploring nature with the students. She blossomed as an educator, eventually joining their Aftercare Program and assisting in the classroom, and was a dedicated advocate for the kids.

Christine is deeply missed by many. Contributions to your favorite charity can be made in her memory. The family invites you to practice a random act of art or kindness in Christine’s memory. (You are welcome to post your random act of art or kindness with hashtag #4ChristineFreitas.)

Services will be held in the Chapel at Tulocay Mortuary 411 Coombsville Road in Napa, on Monday, July 28 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow.
