Charlotte Jane Imrie Chesnutt passed away peacefully on March 28, 2021. Charlotte was 89 years of age at the time of her passing. Charlotte was born on November 4, 1931, to her mother, Marian Adriance Imrie Coffield, and her father, Arthur Imrie.
Charlotte's father died when she was an infant, and she was raised by her mother Marian and her stepfather Wylie "Pop" Coffield.
Charlotte attended Napa High School. During her sophomore year, she met the love of her life Leroy Chesnutt, who was a senior. They both graduated from Napa High School, Leroy in 1947 and Charlotte in 1949. Charlotte then went on to the College of the Pacific in Stockton, now known as UOP. She returned to Napa in 1951 and worked as an executive secretary at Basalt in Napa. On July 20, 1952, she married Dad, Leroy Chesnutt. From there they started our family. They had three children Lynda, Lisa and Brad. With the family complete, Charlotte acted as a vigilant mom raising her kids. She assisted Leroy in the family businesses.
Charlotte was also an avid tennis player, and was coached by her uncle "Lonnie" (George Rice), who was a professional tennis player based out of Oakland, CA. Charlotte, also modeled in local fashion shows. During all of this, she had her own flower arranging business. She would get up at 4 am and travel to the San Francisco Flower Mart, then return to Napa to create amazing flower arrangements for her clients. She loved gardening and cherished her impatiens garden. Charlotte and Leroy loved to entertain in their family home in Napa. She was also an avid reader and especially loved romance novels. In her later years, she peddled around with her best friends in the "Girls Bicycle Group" and enjoyed numerous luncheons and excelled at bridge with her friends. Mom and Dad competed at dominos nightly with wagers at stake, both were very competitive. She loved family trips to Donner Lake and to Hawaii.
Mom loved Dad, her children and grandchildren, along with all of their friends. She loved life in general. She and Dad traveled the world together with their friends and often competed and won dance contests, as they went on their many travels.
Charlotte was an amazing lady, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is pre-deceased by her husband Leroy. She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren. Mom is survived by her children Lynda Geoghagen (Steve – deceased), Lisa Lyon (Steve) and Brad Chesnutt (Julie) and her grandchildren Jennifer Veilleux (Tommy Conatser), Timothy Lyon and Kelley Chesnutt.
There will be a private family interment.
