Bruce Dwayne Beatty, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 4, 2025, in Napa California at the age of 70. Born on January 28, 1955, in Stockton, California, Bruce grew up with a strong work ethic, a generous heart, and a sense of humor that would become trademarks of his life.
Bruce graduated from Mammoth Spring High School in Arkansas, Class of 1973. He later continued his education at St. Mary’s College, earning a degree in Business, and also attended NVC to further his studies. These years laid the foundation for a long and dedicated career. Bruce began his working life at RA Energy, later joining Joseph Phelps Winery, where he devoted nearly 30 years of service. He was widely respected for his commitment, integrity, and the steady reliability he brought to every task.
Bruce married Debbie, with whom he built a life full of laughter, music, and cherished memories. Together, they raised two sons, Nathan Beatty and Elias Tannehill, who survived him. Eli fondly remembers his father as a fun and goofy dad, while Nathan recalls Bruce’s unwavering work ethic and dedication to providing for his family.
He also leaves behind his siblings: Vicki (Beatty) Tate-Agron of Napa, Dan Beatty of Walnut Creek, Dennis Beatty of Oregon, and Ralpha Phillips of Oklahoma, as well as many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Bruce’s friends knew him as someone they could always count on. kind, generous, and steady. He formed countless lifelong friendships and was honored to perform marriage ceremonies for many of the people he loved. His interests were as wide-ranging as his compassion: he enjoyed watching football, golf, and movies; loved fishing; appreciated classical music; and never turned down the chance to listen to AC/DC or Rush. Bruce also loved to run, and Him and Debbie belonged to running clubs for many years.
A man of heart and humor, Bruce touched many lives with his warmth and sincerity. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held on January 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Tulocay Cemetery, in the Tulocay Chapel.
