Betty Lou Dering was born April 15, 1929, to Violet and Lawrence Long in Muncie, IN. Betty was raised in Chicago, IL. Betty moved to California with her parents and her sister Rosemary. Betty met her husband Jack Olmstead where they both worked at Hoberg's Resort. They settled in Napa, and raised their three children, Larry, Jackie and Sherry.
Betty had a long career in Food & Beverage working at Pappy's, The Elks Lodge, The River House, The Tuckerbag, Ruffino's and lastly Jonesey's Famous Steakhouse, where she met her husband Pinky. Betty loved her pets, dancing, dining, yard sales, thrift stores puzzles and festive hats.
Betty was pre deceased by her husband, Everett (Pinky) Dering; and her grandson, Max Wagner. She is survived by her children: Larry Olmstead, Jackie Strasburg and Sherry Bonds; her grandchildren: Jami Kennedy, Levi Olmstead, Crystal Cox, Tim Wagner and Colton Hoefling; as well as 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
