Anna Sue Conlon Obituary

Anna Sue Conlon

Dec. 2, 1934 – Jan. 18, 2023

Our beloved mom, Sue Conlon, 88, passed away peacefully from pneumonia on Wed. Jan. 18th at Kaiser Hospital, with her family by her side. She was born in Yellville, AR. To John O. and Gladys M. Carson. She was a retired Personnel Specialist from Napa State Hospital. She was also a licensed cosmetologist for 50 years. Sue had suffered with COPD for many years, later compounded by dementia.

Sue was a strong, determined and independent woman. She was multi-talented: from sewing and crocheting to house painting, carpentry, plumbing and auto repair. Sue enjoyed living in her country home in Napa, where she resided for 55 years before her move to assisted living. She loved mowing her acreage on her riding lawnmower and sitting on her sunny, back porch enjoying nature while sipping a large cup of coffee. She loved her children, her family and friends, her cats, her tools and her cars. She had a “green thumb” and loved to watch things grow, especially her roses, heirloom tomatoes, grapes, peaches and pears.

Sue is survived by daughters, Debbie Hogan; Donna (Dave) Gerard; stepson, Steve (Lorrie) Conlon; grandchildren, Tim (Natalie), Kevin, Kimberly (Kevin), Christopher (Nikki); great-grandchildren, Sofie, Lily, Joseph, Isla, Hudson and Reagan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Harold W. Conlon; and her three brothers, James L. Carson, John O. Carson and J.C. Carson. She was laid to rest in Tulocay Cemetery on Feb. 9th in Napa, CA. Mom’s passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts and she will be forever missed!

Sue’s family would like to thank the staff of Zeal Care for their tender care in mom’s last months, and a special thank you to Dr. Carol Besana for her loving support and excellent care of Sue during her illness.
