Andrea Schrader

Andrea Schrader died on September 14, 2018 after a six-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. 

It seemed spiritual that she died on the eve of the Walk to end Alzheimer’s Disease in Yountville on September 15th, an event that brought together her friends, family, and members of the Napa company she was so proud to have led for over 30 years, First American Title Company of Napa.  A former colleague wore a tribute on the back of her shirt that read:

“Andrea Schrader is one of the most influential people in my life.  I witnessed her wit, experienced her generosity and stood in awe of her strength and character.   I am forever grateful for the confidence she had in me and the years I worked under her leadership.” 

Andrea lived life with enthusiasm and generosity and is well known for her active role in promoting service to the community.  She took great pride in the lasting friendships she made throughout the Napa Valley and with her fellow Napa Sunrise Rotarians.  She was an avid traveler and scuba diver and loved to share stories of her many adventures. 

Her family would like her to be remembered by a few lines from Tennyson’s poem, “Crossing the Bar”:

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

In lieu of flowers or gifts donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association as a simple reminder of your love and best wishes. She will always be near to our hearts.  May the memory of Andrea strengthen you in adversity, inspire you in times of doubt and comfort you when you feel alone. A celebration of her life is currently being planned.
