In Loving Memory of Alexander L. McNicholas
Alexander Leonidas McNicholas a devoted husband, son, brother, and
friend, passed away at the age of 42 on November 30, 2023. He leaves
behind a legacy of hard work, compassion, and selflessness that touched
the lives of those around him.
Born on August 14, 1981 in San Antonio Texas, Alex pursued his education
with dedication and earned an AA Degree in Humanities from Cerro Coso
Community College in 2007. His passion for learning extended to
specialized coursework in Fire Technology at Chabot College and business
studies at the College of Alameda. Alex was a certified and trained
professional, holding a Phlebotomy CA State CPT-1 license and a
Emergency Medical Technician I Certification.
Throughout his career, Alex contributed his skills and talents to various
roles. He worked as a Mover at Anderson Brothers Movers since 2017,
showcasing his strong work ethic and team spirit. A well-rounded individual,
Alex also lent his expertise as a Phlebotomist at John Muir Health Clinic in
2010, and as a transporter at Bay Medic Transporter in 2009-2010. His
career journey included diverse experiences, from setting up new stores as
a merchandiser at Pet Food Express to retail sales positions at
Abercrombie & Fitch.
Outside of his professional life, Alex was a dedicated volunteer. He served
as a Firefighter with the Napa County Fire Department, showcasing his
bravery and commitment to community service. Additionally, he generously
gave his time to Kaiser Permanente's Chemotherapy Infusion Department,
leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those undergoing challenging
treatments. His compassion extended to volunteering at VA Mare Island
Hospital in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Alex married Brittany in 2014 at Grand Island Mansion on the Sacramento
River Delta. He loved to take walks with Brittany and their Maltipoo dog
Lilly near their home in Walnut Creek. He and Brittany traveled throughout
California and visited New York, Nevada, Tennessee, and Hawaii. Alex and
his father took a memorable fishing and flightseeing trip to Alaska in 2012.
He was an Oakland Raiders football fan.
Alex is survived by his loving wife Brittany Carlson, his mother and father
Stephanie and Thomas McNicholas, sister Kyra McNicholas and numerous

family, friends and acquaintances who remember him for his kindness,
work ethic, and unwavering dedication to making a positive impact on the
world. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The
American Cancer Society.
