Adrienne Jones Obituary

Adrienne Christine Jones passed away on November 7, 2024.

Born in Sonoma, CA on June 22, 1945, to Alfred Marco Trombetta and Juanita Mori Trombetta, Adrienne was one of four daughters. She was raised in Vallejo, where she attended St. Basil Catholic School, then moved to Santa Rosa, where she attended Ursuline High School.

She first saw her husband of 40 years, John Robertson "Rob" Jones, while at church on Sundays. The two met during a double date to the prom — although they were not originally going together — and she instantly recognized him. Soon after, they began dating and were married in 1961. Together they had three children, Sandra, John Robertson "Robbie" Jr., and Steven. After living in Sebastopol, Novato, and Ukiah, she and her young family finally settled in Napa in 1969, where she would spend the rest of her life.

Adrienne worked for her father’s family business, Alsco Distributors (a wholesale liquor company), as office manager for 16 years, until their sale in 1985. She then went on to other accounting jobs in both Napa and St. Helena.

Throughout her life she was entirely devoted to her family and friends. As a wife, mother, sister, and grandparent, she spent her time in the company and service of those that meant so much to her. She could often be found supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at their sporting events. If her kids were on a ball field, she was there.

She played bocce ball and performed tap dance. She enjoyed taking drives to the coast, meeting with different groups of friends for lunch, and going to shows and performances with her friend, Nadine Fry, whom she thought of as another sister.

After many years of visiting with her daughter and son-in-law at their vacation home in McCloud, she eventually purchased her own home there in 2017 — right across the street from theirs. She considered this her “Happy Place,” spending time in the open air, outdoors. And as she had always done, she made a host of new friends in McCloud, whom she treated as though she had known them all her life. She enjoyed festivals, fairs, BBQs, and dinners — never failing to make time for those important to her.

Adrienne made those around her feel welcome, spoiling them with love, affection, laughter, and food. No one was a stranger, and she took an interest in everyone she came across. Even after illness and battles with cancer, she maintained her smile, warmth, and youthful energy — always caring, kind, and proud of her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Robertson “Rob” Jones and her son John Robertson “Robbie” Jones Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Jones Berry (Paul) and her son, Steven Anthony Jones (Rita Ruecker), along with her three sisters, Juanita Box, Denise Cook, and Val Trombetta, her five grandsons, seven great-grandkids, two great-great-grandkids, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved.

She will be missed dearly — forever in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Friday, November 22 at 12:00pm at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Rd. in Napa, CA. A reception will follow at the Napa Elks Lodge, 2840 Soscol Ave. in Napa, CA.
