Abel Antonio Fuentes lovingly known as “Tony” passed away on July 23, 2025.
Tony was the heart of our family — a man whose warmth, loyalty, and unwavering love created the kind of foundation that held us all together. He was a beloved husband to Amber, the love of his life, and a devoted father to their beautiful son, Mateo. Tony and Amber shared 16 years of deep connection — a bond built on friendship, laughter, shared dreams, and unconditional love. They were true partners in every sense. One of their greatest joys together was traveling — whether it was a quick weekend getaway or a carefully planned trip, they cherished exploring new places, making memories, and experiencing the world side by side. When Mateo was born, Tony lit up in a whole new way. Becoming a father was his proudest moment, and he stepped into that role with pure joy and purpose. You could see the pride in his eyes every time he looked at his son.
Tony was born on March 8, 1990 in St. Helena, California. He attended Head Start which was located at Crane Park and attended St. Helena Catholic School. In 1996, the family moved to Napa, where he made lifelong friends and graduated from Napa High School in 2008. He had a strong work ethic from an early age and wasn’t afraid of a challenge. He was the kind of person who took every opportunity seriously and never did anything halfway — he showed up fully, always.
He was a proud son to his father, Antonio, who he deeply respected and admired. He shared a special connection with his sisters Blanca (Ray) and Sandra (Armand) — relationships full of laughs, memories, and a sense of loyalty that never wavered. Tony was also a loving uncle to his nieces Ariana, Abby, Karina, and Lily, who adored his playful spirit and dependable presence. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Maria, whom he missed dearly and honored in the way he lived his life.
Tony had a genuine love for the simple pleasures — playing a round of golf with friends, cheering on his San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Lakers, or planning the next spot to eat. He was a true foodie and made it his mission to try every restaurant everywhere he went. But if you knew Tony, you knew nothing hit quite like a good sandwich. It was his thing — he’d talk about the perfect bread-to-meat ratio like it was an art form.
More than anything, Tony was a source of love, humor, and constant encouragement to those lucky enough to know him. He led with kindness and carried himself with honesty and integrity. People gravitated to Tony because of his genuine energy, his strong values, and his comforting presence. He had this rare ability to make you feel seen, heard, and supported, even in the smallest interactions.
Tony lived his life with intention. He believed in choosing positivity, in showing up for people, and in doing the right thing even when no one was watching. His legacy is a reminder to all of us that we have control over our attitudes, and that the best way to leave a mark is through meaningful acts of love and service.
He was the guy who would never let you feel alone in a hard moment. The one who made every gathering brighter. The one you could count on without question. Tony's absence leaves an ache in our hearts that words cannot fully capture, but we’ll carry his memory with us — in the way we treat others, in the values we pass on, and in every story we tell about the man who meant so much to so many.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
