William Donald “Bill” White, born November 5, 1952 to William Claud and Nadine White at Brookside Hospital in Richmond, California, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2018, following a brief illness.
Bill is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sherri, and their three children: Sarah Magallano (Ron) of Napa, Amy Law (Matt) of Oakland, and Cody White of Santa Rosa, the lights of his life, grandson Patrick Magallano and granddaughter Nadine Law, as well as his 95 year old mother, Nadine White. He was preceded in death by his father William Claud White and his sisters Linda White Settle and Claudine White.
Bill was a career Peace Officer of 34 years, 32 of which were with the County of Napa, most of those as an Investigator, retiring in 2007 as the Chief of Investigations for the Napa County District Attorney’s Office.
Bill was a member of Napa Parlor #62 Native Sons of the Golden West, and a member of Eagles Aerie 2345 of Woodland, California.
Bill and Sherri loved taking road trips throughout the United States, trips to Maui, and long weekends in Gualala. Bill enjoyed music and played guitar and sang in many bands throughout his life, even into retirement. He loved nothing better than to spend time at home with his family in his backyard Paradise, where “The Road Goes on Forever, and the Party Never Ends.”
There will be no services, but in tribute to his many years in Napa County as an Investigator and advocate for victims of violence, donations to NEWS Domestic Violence & Sexual Abuse Services, would be welcomed.
