Valentina passed away on Tuesday May 15, 2018 on a beautiful sunny day surrounded by the love of her family. Her quest to be with her Lord was finally completed.
Valentina lived an amazing life and took care of those she loved even beyond her death. Her family was one part, she had more friends than you could count. Each one of them with a smile on their face at the mention of her name. Her life was filled with her devotion to St John’s Catholic Church and to God. There are stories of her making sure not only her kids but also her grand-kids and great-grandkids could recite the Rosary without an issue. Her life was also filled with travel, she saw much of the world always coming home with wonderful stories and pictures to share.
Valentina was born on February 14, 1928 in Guanajuato Mexico to Julian Garcia and Aurora Cano. She married Ventura Torres Palafox on February 26, 1946 and had a total of 12 children with Ventura. There were many tragedies in Valentinas life, all of which she overcame with her undying faith in God. Her husband, Ventura passed away on December 15,1978 which is when she came to the US with her young children, then proudly becoming a Citizen in 1996. Of her 12 children three passed away, young in their lives. The remaining children, devoted to her and that she adored were, Lupe, Joseph, Efren, Ignacia, Jorge, Sandra, Dolores, Julian and Abraham. Her children blessed her with being a Grandmother but also a Great-grandmother, many times over. You could tell by how she looked at each one, they were special to her and loved with her whole heart. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Juanita and Micaela. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters and parents.
