1949—2018
Thomas Templeton Reyburn, age 69 passed away in his home on October 3, 2018. Tom was born in St.Louis Missouri on February 11, 1949 to Thomas T. Reyburn and Alyce Fauntleroy Lysle. The Family moved west to California in the late fifties. Tom graduated from Redwood high school in Larkspur Ca. in 1967. After graduation Tom attended San Francisco City College, earning his AA degree in the Hotel Restaurant Program. While in college he met his first wife, JoAnne. In 1980 their son Tommy was born. While in San Francisco Tom cooked and honed his skills at the Delancey Street Foundation Restaurant. After leaving Delancey Street Tom worked as a chef at the Olympic Club in San Francisco and The Sonoma Mission Inn.
In 1997 Tom moved to Napa where he met his wife, Sara Turley. Locally Tom was a chef at Domain Chandon, the Old Adobe and Joney’s Steak House, retiring from Joneys in 2009.
Some of Tom’s most enjoyable moments were times he spent with his family, his dog, Buddy; Cats, Wilson and Chainsaw. Tom loved fishing, golfing, pinochle, the Raiders and most of all the Rolling Stones.
Tom was preceded in death by his father and his sister Valerie. Tom is survived by his wife, Sara, Son, Tommy, grandson Tommy Jr. ,Mother Alyce, sister Jayme and stepbrother Robert. Tom is also survived by his two step-daughters, Bobbie and Dena Jackson and Dena’s children, Tyson and Laci.
A celebration of life service will be held at Tulocay on Saturday, October 20th at 2pm. In Lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to Collabria Care Hospice, 414 Jefferson St., Napa, CA. Donations can also be made on their website, collabriacare.org.
