Susan Elizabeth Fetzer

Susan Elizabeth Fetzer passed away in her favorite place in the world - Napa, California at the age of 89 on April 25, 2017. Sue was born on October 27, 1927 to Reuben and Nettie Brock in La Grange, Georgia.  She had five siblings, all brothers.  She graduated from Center High School in La Grange.  The whole family moved to Santa Monica, California for better work opportunities.  That is when Sue earned her AA degree at Santa Monica City college.  Soon after, she married Ed Fetzer on September 3, 1947. They established their first home in Oakland, Ca. but very quickly Ed was sent to Napa to develop Texaco Stations in Northern California, primarily in the Bay Area.

Through the years, Sue would on many many occasions exclaim what a wonderful place Napa was. "What more could you ask for?" she would say.  Sue loved family trips to Bucks Lake with lots of family.  She had a great fondness for the fish caught by all.  Sue loved children and taught preschool for a few years.  Her family was her life.  She was happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren, an amazing mother and grandmother.  Sue enjoyed cooking, camping, she was an excellent seamstress, and playing Bridge with her very special neighborhood friends.  Grandma Sue was known for her apple pies and she taught all the grandchildren how to make a pie.

Sue is survived by her three children, David (Catherine) Fetzer, Ann (Bob) Borbe, and Carol (Tom) Glakeler; six grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn and Emily Glakeler, Kristen Hardisty, Scott and Matt Borbe; and one great-grandchild, Baily Hardisty.  She is also survived by two brothers, John and Sam Brock.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ed; and brothers, Bob, Hank, and Bill.
