Michael Joseph Forte

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Forte. Mike was born on Aug. 8, 1959 to Albert “Skip” & Joan Forté.   He grew up in the Bel-Aire area of Napa, graduating from Vintage High School in 1977.  Mike was an exceptional athlete and spent many years playing baseball – he had a true passion for the sport.  He also loved football and was a devoted life-long Minnesota Vikings fan.

Mike worked for many years in the construction and roofing trades, and also as a fork lift operator at Napa Pipe, before a back injury forced him into early retirement.

Mike had 4 beautiful children, and along with his long-time companion LInda, they found great joy in becoming grandparents to 4 beautiful grandchildren.  He loved them with all his heart. Mike also loved the outdoors and could often be found taking in a ballgame at Cleve Borman field, kayaking on the Napa River, or taking off on a fishing or camping trip.

Mike is survived by his daughters Tracee Sims (Brian) and Kimberly Jordan (Jeremy), sons Michael Forté (Renee) and Robert Forté, sisters Brenda Gaither (Randy) and Shelly Forté (Dennis Ridling), Step-mom Pat Forté, grandchildren Alec, Ryleigh, Aiden and Carlee and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by the love of his life Lisa Poloson and her children Amancio, Ciana and Joey. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert “Skip” & Joan Forté, brother Robert “Bobby” Forté, nephew Curtis Vroman, and long-time companion Linda Joyner.

In honor of Mike’s wishes, there will be no services.  Instead the family would like to extend an invitation to a casual celebration of Mike’s life to be held at the Napa Moose Lodge, 3275 Browns Valley Road, Napa on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 2pm – 6pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Napa Little League or Joe DiMaggio League.
