Laura Theresa Milani Caswell passed away peacefully on August 18. She was born May 11, 1914 in Weed, California to Joseph and Angelina Milani and was the second of ten children. She was a graduate of Portland Benke-Walker Business School and worked as an Administrative Assistant much of her life.
Laura and her husband Ernest moved to Napa in 1967 where she became active in the community as a volunteer for St John the Baptist Catholic Church, and for twenty years volunteered at the concierge desk at the Queen of the Valley Hospital. Laura also belonged to the Napa Symphony League, the Napa Garden Club, and the Active Artists Club.
Laura was an avid sports fan and enjoyed both the 49’ers football team and the San Francisco Giants, but the Giants were by far her favorite and she had been a loyal fan since 1958, having been a season ticket holder until she was 94 years young. All her friends and family knew NOT to call Laura during game time for the Giants!
Laura was preceeded in death by her husband Ernest and one grandson, and is survived by her daughter Patricia Grossen, two grandsons and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a sister, Angela Huff, as well as many friends.
A memorial service will be held at St Apollinaris Catholic Church on Friday , August 23rd at 11 AM with a reception immediately following in the church hall.
