John Edward Falese

          John Edward Falese, 59, passed away March 25, 2017 near his home in Napa, CA. Beloved husband of Sherry Lynn Falese (nee Reen); father of Sean (Lillian nee Bloch), Eric, and Donald. Grandfather of Elizabeth Grace. Brother to Robert Jr. (Judith), Barbara Brophy  (William), and Loretta Kelly (Richard). Beloved Uncle and Great Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

          John was born November 21, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA to Robert Sr. and Anne Falese (nee McManus). He proudly served in U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1982. He graduated from Father Judge High School in 1975. He met Sherry Reen in Vallejo, CA and they were married in 1983. After training in the Navy, John began a 40-year career in the HVAC industry. He was most recently employed as Director of Training at Norman S Wright Company.

          His children noted his love for family, the passion with which he lived his life, and the contagious sense of humor with which he persevered through many of life's challenges. His fun-loving nature was infectious! He enjoyed a good drink, a good meal, and a good evening of laughter with his family and friends. John will be sorely missed by all.

          Besides his devotion to family and work, John was passionate about youth sports and, in particular, Ice Hockey. John saw how sports could build character and a work ethic in young men. He formed the Junior Patriots and Philadelphia Blazers teams in the USA Hockey League, which he managed from 2005 until 2012. In addition to traveling to games all over the Mid-Atlantic states, John took his teams on service missions, such as the summer of 2007 tour of New Orleans to rebuild flood ravaged homes after Hurricane Katrina. 

          Family and friends are welcome to pay respects on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Tulocay Funeral Home, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa, CA, 94558. The visitation is at 10:00 AM. The memorial service begins at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, John’s family requests donations to rockforhockey.org
