Henry L. Fuqua

Henry L Fuqua Age 90, Born 1/20/27 in Ark. It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather Henry Fuqua on November 20, 2017 at the age of 90 in Vallejo Kaiser.

Henry was born in Ark on January 20,1927.

He came to California at age 14 to Oakland and stayed with family. He joined the Army Air Corp when he was 17. He served time in Alaska and was stationed at Hamilton Air Base for majority of his military years. He was a firefighter in the service and continued as a firefighter as a federal worker until retirement at age 51.

Better known to friends and family as Hank. He was happily married to Laurine (McCrary) Fuqua on June 17, 1989. He loved playing golf with his wife Laurine and friends. He went on many trips with Laurine and brother-in-law Bill playing golf. He loved taking short trips and he loved being home. He enjoyed visiting the families. He loved his yard and was a great gardener. He enjoyed planting a vegetable garden every year. Everyone who met him thought the world of him. He was a loving, kind, happy man. Hank and Laurine did a lot of traveling throughout the US.  They also traveled to England and Paris and made many trips to Hawaii.

He is survived by his son Richard (Rich) Fuqua who lives in Reno, NV with his wife Deborah Fuqua; his step daughter Julie McCrary of Las Vegas, 3 granddaughters, Angel McCrary Lupson of Las Vegas, NV , Stephanie and Heather McCrary of Napa, and 3 little great grandchildren, Memphis, Mayvis and little boy Maliky.

He was a very loving husband and will surely be missed.

A celebration of life in Hanks honor will be held at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Rd, Napa, CA at 2:00 PM on Saturday December 9th.
