Born Dec. 16, 1919 in Chico to Earl and Celia (Fritter) McCall. After a few short years in Colorado as silver mining played out the family returned to CA moving to Napa in 1926. Gen attended Lincoln and Intermediate schools and graduated Napa High in 1938. She married and had two children. She was a homemaker, Cub Scout Den Mother, served on the board of trustees for Browns Valley School, taught Sunday School at First Presbyterian Church and was instrumental in the founding of the Napa Geneology Society.
