Deanna Lindblad

Deanna L. Lindblad, 70, of Napa, CA died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at The Nazareth Rose Garden of Napa.  

Deanna (Dee) Lynne Barkema was born June 8, 1946 in Belmond, IA. She was the daughter of Lyle and Dorothy (Soma) Barkema. She attended Klemme and Ventura Schools and Hamilton Business College in Mason City, IA. Dee worked at the Pentagon in Washington, DC as a Secretary (hired immediately after college), several businesses in Napa, CA and retired from The Doctors Company.

Dee easily made the transition from the Midwest to the Napa Valley.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends taking in all of the amenities the Valley had to offer.  Dee loved stitching elaborate needlepoint canvasses and knitting. 

Dee and Bernard (Russ) Havard were married May 14, 1967 in Alabama. They had one daughter, Heather Lynn, who was born July 25, 1970. Dee and John Lindblad were married July 17, 1976 in Napa, CA. 

Dee is survived by her husband John W. Lindblad, Napa, CA; one daughter, Heather Havard, Napa, CA; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Giambastini, Lafayette, CA and two stepsons; Larry Lindblad, Napa, CA and Mike Lindblad, Folsom, CA.

Dee's siblings include two sisters; Rebecca (Robert) Rise, Eagan, MN, and Sharane (George) Springer, Savannah, GA.  Two brothers; Rodney (Kathryn) Barkema, Forest City, IA, and Dane Barkema, Mason City, IA. Three nieces; Arianne Rise, Meredith Rise and Rachel Springer. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Dorothy Barkema.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 25th from 2:00–6:00pm at The Pelusi Bldg., 2296 Streblow Dr., Napa, CA 94558. Near the entrance to Kennedy Park.  Park at Napa Golf Course lot across from The Pelusi Bldg.
