Linda Ruby Kristina Deeny

Linda Ruby Kristina Deeny returned home to her Heavenly Father on October 15, 2022, after a lengthy illness. Linda was born August 30, 1943 in Richmond, California, to Beatrice and Per Aston Lundell. Her family relocated shortly after her birth, and she spent her life in the beautiful Napa Valley.

 While well-known for a lifetime of kindnesses, she was perhaps best known by her friends and family for her forgiving nature, immediate smile, love of laughter and the great enjoyment she had for a well-told story.

During her illness, she spent much of her time and energy working to make those around her feel comfortable. For many years, she crocheted hearts with personalized messages that she would anonymously arrange to have delivered to whomever she felt might be in need of uplift; she sent these same tokens to hundreds of our troops overseas.

While she received few public accolades for her lifetime of quiet and frequently anonymous service, she was well-respected, trusted, admired and loved by those lucky enough to fall within the circle of her influence. While she maintained for years that she was most proud in life of being a Mother, in later life she recounted to many that she felt she’d found her true calling in the world when she became a Grandmother.

 Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Michael Martin Deeny. She leaves behind their children Kim Signe Kristina Deeny; Kelli Ann Deeny (and Jeff Weaver); Steven Michael Deeny (and Andrea Huntley); and Kevin Matthew Deeny.

She is also survived by her brother, Gary Lundell, of Seattle Washington. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren – Melody Ann Deeny, Savanna Rose Eardley (and father David Eardley), Brooklyn Sierra Deeny, Destiny Debra Rawdon, and Great-Granddaughter Indigo Tessa-Leigh Wright, as well as her many, many friends.

Throughout the entirety of her life, Linda worked hard, she played hard, she laughed hard and she loved fiercely. She is and will always be deeply missed by all who know her.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Saturday November 12, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2590 Trower Avenue in Napa.
