VIRGINIA MORRIS

1928-2015

Virginia Morris, a long-time resident of the Napa Valley passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 surrounded by family and love.

Virginia was born in 1928 in Vallejo California to Joseph and Irella Martin. She graduated from  Vallejo High School and went on to work as a Dental Assistant, where she met her husband Tom Morris.  Virginia and Tom married and had three children, Jo Ann, Tom, and Diane.  She enjoyed life as a stay at home mother, caring for her children and her husband.  The family enjoyed fun vacations, such as camping, although to Virginia this was considered more like work than a vacation.  Virginia and Tom also enjoyed taking the family on ski trips to Lake Tahoe and swimming at their Uncle Peter’s and Auntie Bernadette’s home in Coombsville.  Later, after Tom retired from Mare Island Naval Ship Yard, they took road trips along the coast and to the mountains.  After Tom’s passing in 2001, she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren who all lived close by and visited often.  Over the years there were many birthdays, weddings and births of great grandchildren that filled her life with love and laughter.  Virginia’s love of being a mother was surpassed only by her love of being a grandmother, and now a great grandmother.

Virginia is survived by her daughter Jo Ann and her husband Gustavo Brambila and their three children, Laura, her fiancé Geoff Cummins, Lorin, his wife Nicole and their daughter Eilee, Brendan and his wife Hilary.Virginia’s son Tom Morris and his wife Stephanie and his two children,  Ashley, her husband Ben Guerreri and their daughter Hazel, Collin, his wife Anna and their daughter Ayla.  Virginia’s daughter Dianeand her husband Don Cole, and her two children, Lindsey, her husband Stan Almanzo and their daughter Scarlet, Lacey and her husband Austin Pridmore.

Services will be held Thursday May 7, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Tulocay Chapel.  Memories and words of sympathy may be shared with the family on-line at www.tulocaycemetery.org.
