Tom Woolley, age 96, a long time resident of Napa, passed away peacefully on Feb 18 at Vallejo Kaiser Hospital surrounded by his family; wife Dorothy of 72 years, sons Tom Jr. (Diane), Jack and daughter Kathy (Steve), 7 grand children, 11 great grand children and 5 great, great grand children.
Tom spent 3 years in the Army air Corp. during WWII and was employed at Mare Island Naval ship yard for 33 years serving an apprenticeship as a Machinist and later a Nuclear Inspector.
Tom built his own home in 1949-50 on a half acre where he and Dorothy raised their family.
They traveled many places and camped often with their family fishing and hiking. Tom loved to troll fish on different lakes in his boat.
Tom & Dorothy spent 20 winters in Yuma, Ariz. where Tom built an ‘Arizona House’ in the ‘Foothills’ where he loved to ‘Rockhound’. When Tom & Dorothy decided it was too hard to take care of their beautiful half acre home they moved to Napa Valley Adventist Retirement Estates. A private memorial was held with family and friends to honor Tom’s life.
