1965-2015

Theresa Marie Mast Lucero, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2015 at her home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico; she was 49 years old.

She is survived by her children; Bobby, Hannah and Anthony Lucero; her mother Marlene and step-father Larry Dones; siblings, James Mast, Jr. (Dena), Tammy Tyler (Joel),  Cathy Mast Knittel, Jennifer Potts (Ken Corpe), Erica Nelson (Dave) and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and so many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father James Mast, Sr. and her special Angels, Debbie and Wayne Johnstone; her beloved aunt and uncle who also left us far too soon.

Everyone who knew Theresa, knew her children came first.  In them she instilled a love for learning, that education was the key to tomorrow, and that they never be afraid to follow their hearts and their dreams.  They knew too, she would travel to the ends of the earth for and with them, but moreover, that they were and always will be the lights of her life. 

She was born to be a teacher and will be remembered fondly for her heart full of love for family, friends, and her students, past and present.  Her many kindnesses overflowed with beautiful notes or phone calls to just about everyone she knew, and little gifts to family and friends for absolutely no reason.  Three things her family remember most were her sparkling loving eyes, her beautiful flashing smile and the junk-food nights, when sugar-laden sweets reigned supreme.

She encouraged everyone to be the best they could be, learn everything they could about life and to love their family and friends unconditionally. 

Mass will  be said on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 1pm at St John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Graveside committal will follow the service at Tulocay Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday, May 17 from 1-5pm at in the Tulocay Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Theresa Mast Lucero Donation Fund at Wells Fargo.  Memories and words of sympathy may be shared with the family on-line at www.tulocaycemetery.org.
