Stephen R. Jacobs

Stephen R Jacobs, 67, died suddenly June 25, 2015.  He was born in Napa, April 21, 1948 to Bernard and Geraldine Jacobs.  He graduated from Napa High School in 1966, then, earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Sac State.  He also served 2 years in the United States Army during Vietnam.

He was an insurance broker for 30 years with Sander, Jacobs, Cassayre & Griffin.  Stephen was very involved in the Napa community, serving as president of the Napa 20/30 Club, president of the North Bay Suicide Prevention, a past member of the Napa Sunrise Rotary, volunteered at the Special Olympics in Sacramento, Berkeley, and Napa.  Steve also volunteered to help clear the river walk, called bingo at the Fair for years, helped pay for, and deliver, dictionaries for Napa schools, and served at The Table, delivering meals at Christmas and Thanksgiving.

He greatly enjoyed golf, his Giants, taking care of his darling dog, Handsome, reading, and interacting with his neighbors and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Denise Jacobs; a daughter, Erica Lynn Jacobs; sisters Susan Jacobs and Elizabeth Bishop; and, brothers Chris Jacobs, Paul Jacobs, and Douglas Jacobs.

A prayer service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Donations to Voices Youth Center are appreciated.
