Ruth Vincent (Viera)

February 2, 1930-June 16, 2017

Ruth F. Vincent (Viera) was born Ruth Frances Urban in Hackensack, New Jersey on February 2, 1930.

She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on June 16, 2017 at the age of 87.

After receiving her teaching credential from Trenton State University, Ruth started teaching in 1952. She married Marvin L. Vincent in June 1953, and moved to Fresno, CA. In 1959 they relocated to Napa, CA where Ruth touched thousands of lives as a kindergarten teacher for over 30 years. In retirement she volunteered at several charitable organizations including Community Projects, the Blood Bank and the Napa Visitors Bureau. She was also a member of the Emblem Club, Faculty Wives and the Retired Teacher’s Association.

She leaves behind 5 children, John (Dodi), Judy, Jim (Wendy), Valerie, and Patricia (Kirk) Vincent-Kaump; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and very caring person.  She will be greatly missed and loved by them all.

She will be laid to rest next to Marvin at Tulocay Cemetery. Words of sympathy may be sent to the family on-line at www.tulocaycemetery.org. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ruth Vincent Viera Memorial Scholarship Fund or Community Projects.
