1956—2018
Rodney ‘Rod’ Raines, age 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018 at his home in Napa, California. Rod was born on September 25, 1956 and attended DT Davis Elementary, Redwood Junior High, and Napa High School. From an early age, Rod was passionate about the outdoors, and spent the entirety of his life as an avid camper and fisherman. Never one to shy away from hard work, Rod was known for his work ethic and drive during his career with Napa Septic Tank Service, the City of Napa, and Napa Pipe. Co-workers were drawn towards his outgoing personality and his relentless sense of loyalty. That loyalty particularly extended to his wife, Debbie Raines. Debbie and Rod were inseparable and loved nothing more than watching their grandchildren excel in academics and athletics, and watching their sons coach football under the lights of Memorial Stadium. Rod will be profoundly missed, however, he did not pass in vain, but rather, left a legacy of grit and a no-quit attitude that will continue to positively impact his entire family. Rod is survived by his father, Toney, wife, Debbie, sons, Dennis and Troy, daughter, Kristi, grandchildren, Valerie, Kennedie, Peyton, Tyler, and Ava, and brothers, Rick, Randy, and Russell. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 20th, at 1115 Larkin Way, at 6pm. All friends and family are welcome. Please contact members of the family in regards to Rodney’s final wishes.
