Rodger O Heggelund

Rodger Odin Heggelund passed away August 8, 2015 after a year long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loving family and friends. Born August 5, 1948 in San Francisco, he spent his formative years in Corte Madera. He attended San Jose State University, graduating with a degree in Finance. Rodger also served in the Army Reserves as a drill instructor. Rodger then lived in Contra Costa County before moving to Napa in 2000.

Rodger was a founding and Managing Member of CDI Companies. Rodger and his partners constructed over 40 commercial buildings in Napa and Solano Counties during a 37 year career in Commercial Real Estate Development.

Rodger was a long time member of Napa Valley Country Club and Co-Chaired the development of the new club house that was completed in 2004. Rodger and his partners at CDI most recently developed the Napa Square Project in Downtown Napa which was completed in 2009.

Rodger was the epitome of a gentleman in all business dealings easily making friends with tenants, lenders, contractors and associates; earning the respect and admiration of all.

He is survived by his wife Gail of 33 years and his daughter Andrea Jean, both of Napa, and sisters Catherine Diane Breien and Christine Dawn Simons, both of Manteca. Rodger was blessed with a large extended family including many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.

Rodger will be remembered as a strong, honest man, a loving husband and father, a gracious host, and a compassionate friend.

The memorial service is schedule for 11 am Monday, August 24 at First Christian Church, 2659 1st Street, Napa. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
