Welcome to the memorial page for

Robin (Dever) VanBoeschoten

December 3, 1947 ~ May 11, 2016 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Robin Williamson VanBoeschoten passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 after a long hard fought battle with cancer. Robin hails from Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she was born Dec 3, 1947 to Frances I. W. Dever and William Ralph Dever, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Earl VanBoeschoten; her daughter, Tami N. Robbins; her son Robbie W. Robbins, her daughter-in-law Keri Gray Robbins and her granddaughters, Madilynn G. and Meryl W.; her brother Bill “Bunny” Dever and his wife Linda, of Hot Springs, AR and their family.

Robin was a reporter for her high school newspaper. After graduation, she became a reporter/photographer for the Hot Springs Sentinel Record. She began to help record for insurances incidents, legal and even photographed a raid of an illegal gambling casino. Moving around a bit in Arkansas and California, Robin became a School Librarian at Travis School District while her kids were still in school. Robin eventually became an Executive Asst/Bookkeeper in Vacaville, until she meet Earl in Solano County and moved to Napa. She was hired on at Napa Sanitation District and worked there until she retired.

After retirement and for the past 18 years, Earl and Robin traveled the world from the Netherlands to Antarctica to Italy and the Greek Isles. She made friends everywhere they went. They also enjoyed fishing, camping and hiking in 20+ US National Parks, making sure to visit all the cities and cultures along the way taking multitudes of pictures and making amazing memories. She was always up for going anywhere for any reason. Her kids business trips some times were the only reason needed to go visit a new city with them, of course.

Robin’s desire to stay active and creative didn’t stop with traveling, she was an avid quilter, crafter and artist. She was involved in the local Napa Quilting Guild, and traveled to attend large quilting/crafting conventions. She also participated in local and worldwide contests, winning awards and recognition for her artistic quilts.

Her love for life, sewing, crafting, creating, photography and travel are things that passed down to her children and granddaughters. Her children grew up surrounded with so much creativity, love and encouragement that they both pursued careers to utilize their talents. Robin loved being a mother, but was overjoyed when she became a grandmother.

Robin enjoyed teaching Madi to sew. Robin got her started before Madi could reach the peddle, so Madi would sit on Oma's lap and help. Robin always had a craft or painting project ready for the granddaughters’ visits. She never missed an opportunity to travel to see them (surprise, traveling again) or have them up for a visit with "Oma and Opa”. Her joy of being a grandmother "Oma" to these 2 girls was more than she ever imagined.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 24, at 11am at Tulocay Funeral Home in Napa. A reception will follow from 12 to 3pm. Words of sympathy may be sent to the family on-line at www.tulocaycemetery.org .
