Olivia (Oli) B. Moreno

It is with great sadness that the family of Olivia (Oli) B. Moreno announces her peaceful passing after a brief illness, on Sunday Oct 8th, 2017, at the age of 85 years young.  She was surrounded by her loving and supportive family.  Oli was born in Nuevo Leon Mexico in the small town of Allende.

She met and fell in love with Miguel R. Moreno, married and moved to Texas in 1958.  They eventually moved to California and settled in St. Helena in 1960.  Together they raised five children, Araceli (Tomas), Mike (Maricela), Blanca (Ruben), Tony (Erica), and the youngest son, Che.   She moved to Napa after the death of her husband in 1984. Oli was a fun and caring grandma that shared her unconditional love with her 11 grandchildren.  Isaac, Senovia, Elizabeth, Janessa, Tomas III, Michael, Nohely, Maya, Nigella, Cristian, and Tony Jr.

A devout catholic, Oli dedicated her life to God and family.  Oli was a religious education teacher, instructed and inspired children for over 30 years.  Oli left an enduring impression on everyone she met.   Her charismatic smile made each person feel special and loved.

Among her many hobbies, Oli had a green thumb and loved tending to her beautiful plants.  She also looked forward to church gatherings and socializing with her many friends.  She treasured the quality time spent with her family and enjoyed cooking for them and baking her famous “gorditas”.   

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.    

A Rosary will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2725 Elm Street, Napa, CA 94559

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Oli on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 1:30pm

St. John’s Catholic Church

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery located at 2121 Spring Street, St. Helena, CA 94574
