Welcome to the memorial page for

Norma Lola Winger

November 2, 1924 ~ November 12, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Norma Lola Winger, 93, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2017. Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Her quiet presence and contagious smile brought joy to many in her life.  Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was evident and a source of strength for her soul and those who knew her.

Norma was born to the late Emil and Lola Irene Peterson in Roy, Washington on November 2, 1924. She was a great joy to her parents and was a devoted and caring daughter, even returning from college to care for her ailing mother.  From an early age, she had a love for reading, writing, music, and the Lord.  Norma was a gifted writer and enjoyed life-long learning.  She graduated from Portland Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing in 1946 with a degree in nursing, a reflection of the compassion that she had for others throughout her life.

Norma was blessed with a loving family. She married Reverend Donald Martin Winger on July 9, 1950.  During their working years, they lived in many places in the United States and along the way, Norma made lifelong friendships.  Norma raised her three children with patience, perseverance and humility. She shared her joy of reading, sense of humor and took them on road trips to visit family. From the very beginning, she wanted nothing more than for her children, and later her grandchildren, to follow and serve the Lord.

Norma was a compassionate caregiver and genuine friend. She was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to listen. She is deeply missed by her loved ones, who rejoice in the fact that she is at peace with Jesus.

Norma is survived by her husband, Donald; her son Nordon Winger (Christine); her daughters Marlo Mulroney (Christopher) and Lorene Bordessa (William); her grandchildren Chad Mulroney, Chana Tetzlaff (TJ), Christian Winger (Sarah), Chon Winger (Jessica), Cory Mulroney (Tescia), Will Bordessa, Sophie Bordessa, and Grace Bordessa.   She is preceded in death by her parents.

Norma’s Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 11:00 am at Tulocay Chapel and Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Rd., Napa, California.  Family visitation will proceed the service at 10:00 am and a reception will follow the service and inurnment.  Memorial donations can be made to the Norma Winger Memorial GoFundMe account established to benefit two young missionaries she knew for many years who are serving with Youth With A Mission (Y-WAM).  Contributions may be made at https://www.gofundme.com/norma-winger-memorial-fund.
