Welcome to the memorial page for

Nancy Kathryn Mounter

November 25, 1946 ~ July 31, 2015 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Nancy Kathryn Mounter  passed away peacefully at her home on July 31, 2015. She was born to Cecil H. and Ruby A. Schull on November 25, 1946 near Clear Springs, Missouri.  Nancy was born at home, delivered by her paternal grandmother Violet.  Named after her maternal grandmother, Nancy Kathryn, she was known as Little Nancy.  The family lived many places in Missouri, finally landing in Columbia.

While attending the University of Missouri in Columbia, Nancy met Jim and the two were married in Fayette on September 7, 1968.  They moved to Vallejo, California where Jim went to work for Mare Island Naval Shipyard as an engineer.  They moved to Napa in 1971 and they had a beautiful daughter, Elizabeth Ann in 1974.

Nancy was thankful that she was able to be a homemaker, raising Elizabeth and volunteering in her school.  She also was able to be active in the church body, making many friends and blessing others, especially the elderly (whom she always felt a great tenderness toward) and who always had such wonderful stories and words of wisdom and encouragement for her family.

Nature was a treasure throughout Nancy’s life.  She adored gardening and blessed many with what she grew.  A fine cook, she shared and produced recipes and cooking classes for others.  She will be remembered by all who were blessed to meet her as a purely generous woman.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; their daughter Liz Bellas and husband Cliff, her three grandchildren: Andrew, Lauren and Jeremy; her siblings: Sam (Sheila) and Art; sisters-in-law: Shirley (Gary) and Kathy (Curtis): brother -in-law Bob; step siblings: John, Linda, Christina and Rick; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Creekside Community Church, 1050 Hagen Road, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy asks that you please donate to Creekside Community Church, Napa Valley Hospice, or a charity of your choice.  And she asks one more thing-take time to visit and be a friend.
