My sincere condolence to Mickey's family is made more profound because only 4-weeks past I had began composition of a long,in the making memorial intended for posting to Mickey's Napa High, Class 1960 Webpage. That composition was in memory of Doreen, Mickeys younger sister who's own event occurred over 70-yrs ago. Notwithstanding lo those many years, Doreen, "Doda" as I called her, has been a ubiquitous presence across the whole of life since 1943. In short, I sought to tell Mickey that another other than himself holds living memories of Doreen. I thought the telling would ease Mickey that Doreen has not just gone with the wind, that she is not forgotten. I agonized for decades about approaching Mickey of this did not for fear it would be unsettling. But I'am stunned to just discover that Mickey himself has passed away. While Doreen's walk down closures road was a walk too brief by any measure, I see that Mickey's walk was long, and blessed with family.
My thoughts now are of Mickey, of his family, and evermore of little "Doda", Doreen.
