1942—2018
Marilyn Pearl Miller passed away peacefully on January 7, 2018 at the age of 75.
Marilyn was born on May 21, 1942 to Elsie Marie Stoll Sax and George Simon Sax at the Victory Hospital in Napa. She was a third generation descendant of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stoll, who first settled in Napa in the year 1907 owning and operating the California Bakery at the corner of First and Coombs streets for many years.
Marilyn resided the entirety of her life in Napa, attending local schools including Intermediate, Ridgeview Junior High, Napa High and Napa College.
In 1960, Marilyn was installed as Honored Queen of the Napa International Order of Job’s Daughters. She worked for the Pacific Telephone Company and local businesses. She is remembered by locals for her friendly, welcoming manner at Butter Cream Bakery.
Throughout her life, Marilyn enjoyed her home and lovely garden, her dachshunds Heidi Hope and Myrtle and driving her 1974 yellow Toyota Celica.
Marilyn is survived by her sister Virginia Tygart, nephews Christopher and Jason Tygart as well as great-nephews and niece Kyle, Cody and Summer Tygart.
