Lenora Joyce Gemmell

Lenora Joyce (Basford) Gemmell died September 3, 2017 after living with acute kidney disease and dementia for the last four years. she received comfort and care from her devoted ones: husband Ernest, daughter Lisa Ben-Reuven and grandson William Ben-Reuven. Lenora was born on September 20, 1935 to the late William and Evelyn (Sutton) Basford in Fresno, Ca where she grew up with her brother, Edward. Lenora attended CSU San Jose, where she received her BS degree in Occupational Therapy. She worked for the California Department of Mental Health for over 30 years at Porterville, Dewitt (Auburn) and Napa State Hospitals. She enjoyed writing letters to family and friends, collecting antiques, attending church and singing in the choir and doing genealogy. She was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 625 Randolph St, at 2:00 pm. September 30th.
