L.G. "Mike" Chouinard 1928-2015

Lee George Chouinard died on Nov. 19, 2015. He was born to Lee and Mildred Chouinard on May 4, 1928 in Ophiem, Montana. He was in the Navy as an electrician third mate in 1945 on the USS Shangri-LA stationed at Hunters Point and was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy on Aug. 16, 1949. He moved to Napa in 1946. He married his wife Carol Jan. 1, 1948. Lee became a Deputy with the Napa County Sheriff Department in 1955, an investigator with the Napa County District Attorney's Office in 1965. Lee was the first supervising agent of the Napa Special Investigations Bureau, a position he held from 1975-1979. In Jan 1979 Lee was appointed Chief Investigator of the Napa County District Attorney's Office and retired out in 1995 to start the Child Abduction Unit and was the investigator until retirement June 30, 2003 to culminate a 43 year career in Law Enforcement for the County of Napa. Lee was a past President/life member of the California Narcotics Officers Association & past president of Napa County Peace Officers Association.

 Lee is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Cheri Chouinard; son, Mike (Francine) Chouinard; grandchildren Jason and Shane Glantz, Michael and Gregory Chouinard; great grandchildren Jaden, Mason, Amber Glantz; along with many nieces & nephews.

A memorial service will be celebrated at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1226 Salvador Ave. Napa, CA Dec 4, 2015 at 1:00. Graveside Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Napa Valley Hospice 414 S. Jefferson St. Napa, CA 94558 or charity of your choice.
