Kathryn Jane Jones

Kathryn Jane Jones Born on October 18, 1920 the only child of Everett and Grace Bobb in Covington, Kentucky. She was raised and educated in Latonia. Married young to James Hugh McClellan she went to live in Nashville, Tennessee but returned to Covington when her husband served in WWII. They had two children Margie Ann and James Everett. They later divorced and Kate met and married the second love of her life, Capt. Billy Ray Jones and they moved to San Francisco, California and had two children, William Charles and Kathy Rae. A lifetime telephone operator she retired from the UC Medical Center after 26 years.of service. She went to live in Clearlake, California. She spent most of her retired life volunteering at the Elks and American Legion as a waitress for many of their special events. She was a member of many clubs. One club, which she totally enjoyed, was the 80’s club whose sole purpose was to go out to lunch on the second Thursday of every month. After a severe illness, she was in need of nursing care and could no longer live alone and James and Anna brought her to Napa Valley Care Center. But she thrived, loved playing bingo 4 times a week, dominoes and showing off her sewing skills by winning two ribbons and the Napa Town and Country Fair. She dearly loved going out to lunch. “Jamaw” is survived by three of her four children, Margie Ponder(Paul) both pre-deceased her mother, James McClellan(Anna), William Jones(Karen), Kathy O’Connell; Grandchildren: Marjorie Manyet(Don), Debbie Ashcraft, Charlene Murphy, Michael O’Connell(Lauren), Jonathan O’Connell(Christen), Victoria Eversole(Kevin), Joshua Jones; Great Grandchildren: Sandra Hall(Nick), Brandon Ashcraft(Elizabeth), Addison O’Connell, Harper O’Connell; Great-Great Grandchildren: William Lewis, Logan Hall, Scarlet Ashcraft, Corbin Ashcraft. And Milo the dog.
