1965-2016

Jeff  Donaldson, 51, died peacefully at his home October 6, 2016.  He was born March 25, 1965 in Oakland to Thomas and Luana Donaldson.  Jeff moved to Napa when he was 10 years old.  He loved growing up in Napa so much, that he decided to raise his own family in the area.  

Jeff was a great athlete and competitor all his life. He grew up playing all the usual sports, but developed a true passion for baseball. He was a highly touted left handed pitcher in high school with strong future aspirations until injury cut short those dreams. He later channeled that passion into lifetime pursuits of softball, road and mountain biking, running, swimming, and weightlifting.

He earned his B.S. in Statistics from UC Davis and was the Chief Actuary and Senior Vice President for The Doctor's Company.  He was a member of the Casualty Actuarial Society and the American Academy of Actuaries.

He married the love of his life, Kathleen on June 19, 1993 and he was very proud of their son, Jack.

Jeff, was a life-long Oakland sports fan; Raiders, A's & Warriors, watching and attending as many games as possible.   He often traveled to Los Angeles for Raiders games, but was ecstatic when the Raiders came back to Oakland and almost never missed attending a game.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; son, Jack; parents, Tom and Luana; sisters, Debbie and Sue; grandmother, Mae; mother-in-law, Joan; and brother-in-laws, Tom (Pam) Helin and Bob(Cathy) Helin.

A service to honor Jeff's life will be held in the Tulocay Chapel Monday, November 21, 2016 at 11am.  Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Youth Families; https://dyf.org/ or JDRF; http://www.jdrf.org/.  Memories may be shared at www.tulocaycemetery.org.
