Dear Karen, I am so sorry to hear about Jean's passing. We went back a long way and had many lengthy discussions about two mutual interests: our love for the University of San Francisco (in particular the men's basketball program) and our battles with diabetes. Jean fought the disease valiantly. I always admired his fighting spirit, thirst for knowledge, sharp wit, and his accomplishments over many varied interests. We would explore history, science, current events, sports, and his skills at producing outstanding peppers! He was truly a man for all seasons! I will miss seeing him at USF basketball games. Now, when I look across the aisle where his seat was, I will recall Jean vociferously rooting the Dons on to victory and giving the refs a piece of his mind! He will be missed! ...John

Prayers for your loss. Mr. Lassegues was my 9th grade Science teacher. He always made the class interesting. I think my grade was a 'B' at the end of the year. Wish I paid more attention back then.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Jean. He was my science teacher at Silverado Jr High. He is responsible for my love of science. I have fond memories of his class. I also participated in his weight lifting group.

Dear Karen,

We were shocked and saddened by the news of Jean's sudden passing. We have so many good memories of Jean, dating back to the 1960s at USF and through the intervening years. You and he are in our thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace.
