Jean Ann Hamernick

1937—2018

Jean Ann Hamernick lived in Fairfield, CA where she shared a loving home with her son Michael & wife Marcia and their boys. She passed away January 8, 2018 with her family by her side. Born June 19, 1937 to August and Mary Block of Wheaton, Minnesota where she grew up and lived through her completion of high school. She then went to business school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Following business school she worked as a secretary. Shortly after she met Lee Francis Hamernick . They married May 2, 1959 in Hennepin, Minnesota. In 1968 Lee & Jean moved to Santa Rosa, CA along with their 4 children, their last child being born in Santa Rosa in 1972. There she worked for an advertising firm along with raising her children. They moved to Napa in 1973 where they resided until moving to the San Jose area where Lee passed away in 1987. Jean returned to Napa in 2004 to be near family.

She was the most wonderful loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was there for everyone, always thinking of others first. She was our anchor we turned to for guidance, answers and reassurance. We were very fortunate to have her in our lives. Her passions and hobbies were painting, antique shopping, yard sales, cooking and baking, playing the piano and being the paparazzi at all family gatherings which we are grateful for all of the wonderful photos.

She leaves behind her children Jean Browning (Scott), Jim Hamernick (Kathy), Jeff Hamernick (Gloria), DeAnn Hamernick (Terri), Michael Hamernick (Marcia), foster daughter Martine Maxwell (Dick). One granddaughter Jenna (Sawyer) Ourada, 9 grandson’s Jeffrey Sawyer, Tony, David, Andrew, Chris, Nick, Jeff, Dorian, Dexter and arriving in March Damien Hamernick, one great grandson Casen Hamernick. Her longtime boyfriend Larry Jenkins, sister Mary Lou Block, brother-in-law Dale Hamernick, nephew Lee, nieces Linda and Terry and numerous cousins.

There was a private family burial alongside her husband Lee in Santa Clara, CA. There will be a Celebration of Life on March 3, 2018 in Napa at 1:00 p.m. if you would like to attend please contact Jeanie Browning at jeenie3333@gmail.com for more details.
