James (Jim) Hunt

James (Jim) Hunt passed away Monday, June 27, 2017 in Napa. He was born October 16, 1944 in St. Helena, California to  Lee and Barbara Hunt.  Jim graduated from St. Helena High School in 1962; made it into the Hall of Fame and attended UC Berkeley.  He then earned a Master's Degree from Tufts University.  

Throughout his life;  he worked a lifetime doing what he loved, teaching and coaching. He taught and coached in Massachusetts and then returned to Napa.  His career included Justin-Siena High School, Calistoga High School  and then he retired from Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park.  Those that knew Jim , knew he had great passion for teaching and coaching.  He was very blessed and fortunate to experience all the best that life had to offer.    

Jim was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Judy Hyder Hunt and his parents, Lee and Barbara Hunt. He is survived by his sister, Judy Hunt Ladd of North Adams, Massachusetts; and by his two loving daughters,  Kim Hunt of Napa, California and Robin Hunt of Vacaville, California. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A private burial will be held at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa. The family will have a Celebration of Jim's life at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests  donations to SPCA or St. Helena High School  Athletic Hall of Fame. Memories may be shared with the family on-line at www.tulocaycemetery.org.
