Jack Peters, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at home on August 5, 2015. He was born in Macomb, Oklahoma on February 9, 1930 to John and Ruby Peters. He learned the value of hard work growing up with his sister and two brothers in Maud, Oklahoma. Along with his family, he moved to Ceres, California in 1947.  After enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1949, he proudly served in the Korean War where he received numerous awards including a Bronze Star for Combat Infantry.

Following his honorable discharge in 1952, Jack met Margaret Clark of Napa, and they were married on October 5 that same year. They settled in Napa, where they raised their three children Martha, Jerry, and Jody. With the entrepreneurial spirit, Jack and Margaret purchased commercial and residential properties, and opened a few businesses including Peters Rentals. After purchasing a ranch in Pope Valley, Jack also discovered a passion for cattle ranching. A strong community supporter, he was a member of several service organizations, including Yount Lodge #12 F&AM, Napa Royal Arch #30, Silver Spray Chapter #59 OES, Napa Elks Lodge #832, Welcome Grange #791, Napa Valley Horseman’s Association, Napa County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse, and the California Rental Association.

Jack later married Marie Cole on July 2, 1993. Together they enjoyed traveling, be it a cruise, RV or Motorcycle.  They also enjoyed dancing and were often seen at their favorite lunch spot, Buttercream Bakery.  Jack also became a NASCAR fan and hot rod enthusiast. He enjoyed watching races, and building and showing his cars.

He leaves behind his wife, Marie, and children, Martha Peters, Jerry Peters (Ann), Jody Schickedanz (Ron), Brenda Ferrario (Gino), Debra Erwin (Rick), Aaron Cole (Kirstin), and Bryon Cole (Melissa).
