Helen Marsh

          Helen Marsh, 96, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2017.  Born December 9, 1920 in Stockton, California to Joseph and Adelaide Furtado. Helen was the second eldest of six children.  Her early years were spent on her family's dairy ranch in Tracy, California. After high school, Helen went onto Business College where she discovered her love for shorthand.  

          In 1948, while working for Morris Plan in Stockton, she met her husband Robert R. Marsh.  That same year they moved to Napa.  She enjoyed working for thirty years at Wells Fargo Bank.  Helen and Bob were avid travelers, taking many cruises throughout Europe and exploring the United States. Mom was an amazing cook and her recipes will be used by all for many years to come.  

          Helen is survived by her daughter, Sharon McDermott (Cary) of Napa; grandson, Brandon McDermott of Chandler, Arizona; granddaughter, Karlie McDermott of Napa; and great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Krch of Napa.  She is also survived by her nieces, Tracy Ware (Michael) of Napa and Kim Statz (Al) of Petaluma; and nephew, Chris Green of Corte Madera. Helen is also survived by her brother, Manuel Furtado (Nancy); as well as nieces and nephews in Tracy and Antioch.  

          Helen’s family would like to thank Collabria Care of Napa and a special thank you to Staymen Estate (Alston Ln.) Maria, Lucky and Loa.  The Funeral service will be held Monday, June 12, 2017 at Tulocay Cemetery.  Visitation to begin at 11:00am with service to follow at 1:00pm.
