Gerald Sundrud

Jerry passed away at home on July 31, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer, at the age of 72. He was born in Minnesota, to second-generation Norwegian-Americans, Arthur and Gerda Sundrud. In his youth, he enjoyed working on his uncle’s farm. He graduated from Concordia College, served in the U.S. Army, traveled the world, and then moved to Napa in 1970, where he stayed the rest of his life. He was a man of strong convictions and a generous spirit; he devoted his life to his family and to God. He drove for Safeway, C.C. Meyers, and Napa State Hospital. His favorite activities included family trips, working on home improvement projects, and daily walks with his dogs.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Bobbie; his devoted children Steven Sundrud, Janet Sundrud, and Joanne Powers (Brian); and his siblings Ron Sundrud (Grace), Jean Fehl (Dave), and Annette Porter (Steve). His funeral service will be on Friday, August 4, at 6:00 PM at Napa Valley Baptist Church, 2303 Trower Ave., Napa, CA 94558, followed by a reception.
