George was born September 25, 1937 in Lead South Dakota. His family moved to California in 1942. He worked nearly 30 years as a semi-trailer truck driver for companies like Red Top Dairy and Nulaid Eggs delivering milk and eggs before retiring in 1986.
George was the ultimate "do it yourselfer" and loved working with his hands, including remodeling and building homes. He and his wife Carolyn moved to Montgomery Creek in Shasta County in the late 1980's where they built a new two story home; which was later destroyed in a fire. That did not discourage him however, and shortly after he built another home; the one that he has resided in since.
