Francisca Kim Wolf

Francisca Kim Wolf (born Kim Kap Sun) passed away peacefully on July 21, 2017.  She was born in 1936 in Seoul, Korea where she met her husband, Edwin Adolph Wolf, Jr. when he was stationed in Korea with the U.S. Army. They were married on Oct 29, 1962 in Korea and they moved to the United States soon after their daughter, Cecilia, was born on July 23, 1963 where they lived on the east coast.  Their son, Michael, was born on October 5, 1964 in Georgia.  They moved to Japan in 1968 when Edwin was transferred there and then to Korea in 1971.  They returned to California in 1973 where they eventually settled in a beautiful home near Folsom Lake in Granite Bay.

Francisca got her cosmetology license in 1974 and had a very successful career until she retired in 2006.  She was an avid gardener and wonderful cook.  She loved to walking on the trails near Folsom Lake, ballroom dancing and golfing which she learned late in life.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Edwin who died in 2001.  Her first grandchild, Ariela, was born in 2000 and her second grandchild, Isabel, was born in 2003.  They kept her busy traveling weekly from her home in Granite Bay to her daughter’s home in Danville so she could spend time with her grandchildren and help care for them.   Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved them fiercely.  She will be greatly missed. 

She is survived by Cecilia and her husband, Victor Castillo, and their daughters Ariela and Isabel, Michael Wolf and his wife, Sherry Fournier, and her half-brother Jin Yong Kim and his daughter Helen.

Francisca was buried on Monday July 24, 2017 at Tulocay Cemetery with her family in attendance. A Memorial Mass in her honor will be held on Sunday, August 6, at 5pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Napa..
