Welcome to the memorial page for

Dennis Lloyde Heinke

March 26, 1946 ~ September 30, 2015 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Dennis L. Heinke, 69, died at home in the arms of his family on September 30, 2015. He was our hero and bravely battled cancer for eleven years.

Born on March 26, 1946 at St. Helena Hospital to Herbert M. Heinke and Orva L. Heinke (Pieratt), he was proud to be a third generation Napan.  Dennis graduated from PUC Preparatory School in 1963 and attended college at Riverside and UC Berkeley. He received his Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Armstrong University in 1968.

His accounting career began in 1969 at Hal Erwin, CPAs in Napa.  He later took employment as Controller of Annco Development Corp. in Burlingame.  In 1981 Dennis partnered with Tom Uboldi to establish Uboldi, Heinke & Co., CPAs where he retired in 2006 at age 59.

Dennis’ hobbies included golfing, fishing and hunting. He loved trading stories around a campfire with a nice cold Bud or on the nineteenth hole with a gin and tonic in his hand. He enjoyed camping under the stars or in his RV.  He loved traveling anywhere. His favorite adventures were to Europe, China, Panama and Tahiti as well as his many family trips to Hawaii, where the golfing and the sunsets are spectacular.  He spent many hours tending his gardens and enjoyed taking everyone on “tours” pointing out how everything was better than last year’s.  His tomatoes, of course, were the best we ever tasted. Dennis took pride in his olive orchard; the oil was liquid gold that he shared with family and friends. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and his amazing grandkids.  His greatest regret was not being able to see them all grow up and meet the ones yet to come.

Among his many affiliations, Dennis was a member of the CA Society of CPAs, AICPA, Napa Elks Lodge, Native Sons of the Golden West, founding member and past President of Yountville Lions Club, past member of the Rutherford Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Board of Directors of the Elk’s Larison Scholarship Fund and proud member of the Chamiso Hunting Club.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia; daughter, Ammanda Keene (Sean); son, Dennis Heinke (Jordana); sister, Joyce MacMillan (Glen); brother, Larry Heinke; his grandchildren, Maia, Sienna, Caden, Jax and Henna.  He also leaves behind beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews, many friends and his faithful dog, Jake.

There will be a gathering with a reception to follow on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11:30 am at Tulocay Cemetery and Funeral Home, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa.  Condolences may be sent to www.tulocaycemetery.org.  Dennis requested memorial contributions to: N.V. College Foundation, Elks Larison Scholarship Fund, Attn: Lisa Gibbs, 2277 Napa-Vallejo Hwy, Napa, CA 94558.
