Dean Phillips Obituary

1941-2017

Dean William Phillips, our beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, January 12, 2018 at age 77. He was born in Batavia, New York to Robert and Doris Phillips. His family moved to California in 1945 and it became his home. He graduated from John Swett High School in Rodeo, CA and soon after joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1965. He later moved to Napa and spent most of his career as a Machinist at Union Oil Refinery. He was married to Arleen Phillips for 39 years until she passed in 2011.

He enjoyed many activities throughout the years. He was most known for being an athlete, enjoying a good joke or prank, and a great card player. He loved golfing, fishing, playing cards, and watching sports.

Dean is survived by: daughter and son-in-law Dina and Ted Cooper; son and daughter-in-law Darrin Phillips and Cindy Johnson; daughter Leslie Miller; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Rick Lane; Grandsons: Ethan Stel, Jake Stel, and Will Lane; sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Charles Coleman; nieces and nephews: Lisa Olds, Chuck Coleman, Amanda Gedaria; brother and sister-in-law Ed and Cindy Phillips; sister-in-law Najla Saba and sister and brother-in-law Bill and Marilyn Thomas.
